Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the most effective ways to upgrade your gear without relying on massive drops or trade. This article will help you understand how to upgrade your gear.
Upgrading equipment grants an increase to the item's base stats. The bonus is based on the rarity and quality of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components are the things that can make your weapons and armor more effective. They can be found by destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in item-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment containing the components or through high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components cannot be destroyed by removing them from an item.
Upgrade components are primarily used to upgrade an item, however, they can also be used for other reasons. They can be used to boost the value of an upgradeable item or they can be used to increase the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. For example, a crafted glyph will boost the upgrade chance of its target, and the boost upgrade can enhance the defense or attack attribute of a weapon or armor.
Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. This will display the upgrade components to which the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench to select an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item can gain when upgraded with that component. For instance, organic components offer an experience multiplier that is higher than mechanical ones. It is therefore recommended to upgrade using organic components until you have reached the experience multiplier of the next rank of the weapon or gear, and then change to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier of experience, each item also has an maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of upgradeable items is determined by their upgradeable rank, and the kind of upgrade they can get. The highest upgrade possible is a weapon that is tier 10. The most common weapon upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items which share a bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the least once. The upgrade boosts the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. The first time you upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades the primary stats will be boosted a little further (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+), and each time you upgrade the item, one of its extra stats will be increased randomly.
Upgrades can also boost the damage base of a weapon. This may be important for certain builds. Weapons aren't upgraded to give an increased maximum defence roll than their base. It is a good option to increase the value of certain sets and unique items, however it's important to remember that they're not necessarily better than a high-level runeword in any build.
If you're upgrading an item with a bonus, the item can be rerolled one time and the guarantee will reset back to zero. item upgrader of power dies are used to reroll an item as it is used to increase its level. However the new item comes with different bonuses. Upgrades can be completed by visiting the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will need a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. They can be purchased with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a second time, and the reroll will use the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
A player is able to roll any item they have acquired during the game, provided they have enough reroll tokens. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small amount of in-game currency. They cannot be refunded. The new item will come with the same extra bonuses as the previous one, but the stats will be different.
In addition to rerolling items, players can also change the identification of any item by engaging with an upgrader NPC. The equipment's identification will change from a weapon to an armor or reverse it. The basic stats and requirements will remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that have the gear in question.
The player can also upgrade their item level for any equipment equipped. This is accomplished by interacting with an upgrader NPC, and then obtaining upgrade items. The cost will differ based on the upgrade track, the item type and the number of crests. Each upgrade will add 5percent more damage to weapons.
An upgrade will make it more powerful however it can also decrease its quality. Therefore, it is important to strike a balance between the two. Some items may not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded to realize their potential. A player might want to upgrade breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier ( percent block chance, or FHR) in order to explore what else it can become.
The main reason people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is that they're trying to obtain a particular weapon or character that they aren't able to obtain. These items are time-consuming and costly to obtain, and the RNG doesn't always play nice. The only alternative is to spend money or grind for a long time. Rerolling is very popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor after upgrading an item. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe it was designed to be a way to give some value to rare items, but since gear in general drops fairly quickly and can only be upgraded one level up, you'll usually replace the item before it becomes too old. It's also not worth it to upgrade items that have gem sockets as the power of the gem will far outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
If you click the upgrade option on an item, you'll be presented with a small window displaying the item's upgrade template and the cost of Valorstone and crest to increase the level of the item. The cost of upgrades will vary based on the armor and weapons and the latter typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats to be added to an upgraded item, and also the current base ilvl.
The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated by analyzing the item's current ilvl as well as the upgrade template. In addition the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be reduced by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For instance, an upgrade of 8% can reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8%.
The item will be upgraded to other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry and dodge rating, in addition to the base level. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.

item upgrades of damage and defense that the item will receive when it is leveled can be shown below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. Apart from the equipment for practice, all weapons and armor gain these same stats when leveled up. The market will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can fetch more than an unupp'd version. This is also true for other pieces of armor, like tiaras and circlets.
