World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.
The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much they'll improve after a future reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a substantial possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failed upgrade will cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded various ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as possible.
You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.
Leveling
The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets upgraded.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When the player upgrade a piece of equipment, the base item is replaced by a new item. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a problem because it can make the item more expensive if you do not need it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens in order to do so. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, with the level 1 base, and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. please click the next post means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase it will be applied prior to any attack damage increases. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different upgrade ingredients.
